East Coast Swing
The East Coast Swing is one of the swing dances based off the original Lindy Hop. In the 1940’s when Lindy Hop was all the dance craze dance studios at the time needed a way to teach the dance to students. Arthur Murray studios were the first to use the term Eastern Swing but later East Coast Swing became the acceptable term for Ballroom competitions.
The East Coast Swing is known by other names based on the region of the county where East Coast swing is danced. Some other names are Jitterbug, American Swing, and Triple Swing.
Here’s some good old fashioned swing from the 1940’s. Then we will progress to some modern swing dancing.
